How to Make New User in WordPress

You are a website administrator and you want to add new users to your site or blog? Since WordPress has an integrated system of managing users, this is a fairly easy thing to do.

In this article we will guide you through the steps on how to make a new user in WordPress. Don’t worry about the kind of editor you’re using. These steps are the same both for the Classic editor and for Gutenberg.

1. Go to UsersAdd New:

First, you should click on Users tab on your Dashboard and select option Add New.

2. Fill out the form:

Then, you need to fill out the form with all necessary information, such as username, email address, password and role.

When picking the username, make sure to create one that is easy to memorize, as your profile user will have to remember their username in order to login. But in a case they forget it, there is no need to panic. Anyone can change WordPress username in a flash.

In addition, you can also add first name, last name and website. However, these fields aren’t required, and users can change them afterwards when editing their profile.

As for the password field, you can choose whether you want to make one manually or use a password generator. Either way, whichever option you pick, make sure to create a strong password in order to achieve solid security. Once again, if you happen to forget it, you can easily change password in WordPress at any point.

After you create your password, you can select if you want to send the password to the user through email. Just mark the checkbox below the password field and users will receive email with their login information.

Finally, click Add New User button and your user making process is complete! Once you’re done, you can go to All Users option located in the Users tab to check the new user profile you just made. Have in mind that each user can have a different WordPress user roles and specific authorizations.

From there, you can view and edit user information or delete user completely.
